We are using these nights to grow. All genres of story welcome: personal, yarns, folk tale and myth. We welcome stories in all languages. So if you are more comfortable telling tales in your mother tongue - come along.
We blink under the lights, film and time each other (if we want to) and generally encourage each other to have a go. We aim to land our stories in 8 minutes but you know ... that takes practice!
Recently some of us have been using Fabled Nights to practice for World Storytelling Day. (see below)
WHERE: Newport Community HUB 13 Mason Street. Approach from the park, a short walk from the Newport Station
WHEN: 17 March (the 3rd Friday of the month)
TIME: 7.30 pm - 10.00 pm
COST: $5.00 or $3.00 Story Vic and Newport Fiddle and Folk Club members
*We ask that kind hearts and common sense prevail - misogynist, racist and homophobic stories hurt people. Please don't bring them to Fabled nights.
