European Federation for Storytelling (FEST): 19 – 22 July 2015

Invitation to the FEST conference

The European Federation for Story Telling (FEST) is an organisation primarily for organisations to strengthen alliances, share knowledge of all kinds around storytelling and arts practice. Jackie Kerin represented Storytelling Australia Victoria in 2013. That year, the other nonEuropean countries represented included Canada, Singapore, Iran and the US. Individuals do attend on their own bat but the big picture is to encourage organisations to send reps so that ideas around storytelling are shared beyond a single practice.

Here is a video from the 2013 Conference. You will see some familiar faces.

LOCATION: KEA Island, Greece, 19 – 22 July 2015

FEST and Mythos, the Centre for the Study and Dissemination of Myths and Folktales, would like to invite you to take part in the FEST conference 2015. This year it will take place on the Greek island KEA, one of the Cyclades. Yet again it will be a great opportunity to meet and learn from storyteller associations, festival organisers, storytellers and all kinds of organisations from Europe and from the rest of the world dealing with the beautiful art of storytelling.

The FEST programme will consist of:
  • Discussions and exchange through interest groups
  • Presentation of projects
  • FEST Film festival (evening of short films about storytelling)
  • Guest speakers
  • Structural development of FEST (Council meeting)
  • Time for networking

After the conference you can take part in the Folktale Festival as a listener in the audience or as a storyteller.

For all the information please go to the FEST website HERE
